When we hear the word winter, the first thing that comes to our mind is the dry environment covered with fog, the cool air embracing us. The taste of eating pita with fresh paddy and rice makes this winter more festive. This is how we are taught this from childhood in the language of various books. But the question is – does this winter really bring such joy and festive mood for everyone? Looking around, one can see dry air wandering around, misty nature and human life. Winter is approaching as a curse and a bad time for people living in poverty except for some upper or middle class people. No warm clothes to keep warm, no provision of one meal. The combination of winter in book language is just a fantasy for these people. So this winter we organized a program called “Ushnatar Parsha” (উষ্ণতার স্পর্শ) with some small efforts for the underprivileged dreamers of the society. Our intention was that everyone would wrap themselves in winter clothes, winter pies could be eaten by poor children, old people could enjoy, street children would indulge in some sports and get gifts. May everyone be in a festive mood for a while.
